Lotta Hackett

Lotta Hackett is the Programme Lead for Public Health and Senior Teaching Fellow in the School of Human Sciences at the University of Greenwich. She joined the university in 2019 as an hourly-paid lecturer and transitioned to full-time work in 2022, while on secondment from the NHS. She holds a BSc (Hons), a Master of Public Health (MPH) from King’s College London (2018), and achieved Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in 2023.

Lotta teaches undergraduate and postgraduate modules including Behaviour Change and Health Promotion (MSc), Academic Skills (BSc), Biopsychosocial Perspectives (BSc), and Community Development and Engagement (BSc). She supervises MSc students in their final projects and dissertations.

Her research and professional interests focus on public health, community development, health policy, and social care. Her prior roles include Head of Engagement at NHS South East London Integrated Care System (2018–2023), Manager at Healthwatch Bexley (2016–2018), and Social Prescribing Coordinator at Mind in Bexley (2014–2016). She collaborates with external organizations to enhance student employability and experience.

Lotta’s work emphasizes bridging academic and practical health challenges, particularly in community engagement and policy implementation. Her Fellowship with HE reflects her contributions to teaching excellence.
