Lorrie Blair is Professor of Art Education and Fellow at the School of Irish Studies at Concordia University. Recipient of the Faculty of Fine Arts Distinguished Teaching Award, her research examines art education ethics, teacher training, and cultural representations including Irish-themed tattoos and famine memorials.
Research Areas: Specializes in qualitative and studio-based research methods, teacher identity formation, youth visual culture, and folk/outsider art. Current investigations include Saint Patrick's Day parades as cultural expressions and narratives behind Celtic-inspired tattoos.
Teaching: Develops courses on visual culture, Irish popular culture, and pre-service teacher training at secondary levels. Graduate instruction focuses on research methodologies and specialized topics aligned with her cultural studies expertise.
