Dr. Lorne Campbell is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Western Ontario. He earned his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2001. Prior to joining Western in 2002, he was an Assistant Professor at Simon Fraser University. His research focuses on interpersonal relationships, evolutionary psychology, and research methodology. He has held prestigious awards including the Harrington Faculty Fellow (2008-09) and the University of Western Ontario Faculty Scholar (2012-14). His work is funded by SSHRC and CFI grants.
His research explores trust in relationships, media influence on behavior, and pornography use dynamics within couples. He advocates for open science practices and has contributed to methodological advancements like replication studies. Dr. Campbell leads the Love Lab, investigating relationship dynamics and human sexuality.
His publications span over 100 peer-reviewed articles, emphasizing topics such as relational boredom, trust prediction, and the impact of technology on relationships. He co-authored a textbook on romantic relationships and edited volumes on relationship functioning.
