Lorna Hogg

Lorna Hogg is Deputy Director (Clinical/Professional) and Clinical Director within the Programme at the University of Oxford, where she has worked since September 2018. Her responsibilities include overseeing trainee clinical practice development, supervisor training, personal and professional development of trainees, and admissions.

• Qualified as a clinical psychologist at Glasgow University (1985)
• Worked in NHS services across multiple trusts (Oxford Health, Oxleas, Avon and Wiltshire, 2gether)
• Academic tutoring experience at University of Oxford, Salomons Clinical Psychology Training Programme (Canterbury Christ Church University), and University of Bath (9 years as Admissions Tutor)

Her research focuses on social and personal identity processes in psychosis, examining how unusual perceptual experiences and beliefs affect relationships, help-seeking, and self-esteem. Additional interests include stigma/self-stigma in mental health, and social identity dynamics among professionals and trainees.

She is currently pursuing a part-time PhD at the University of Bath to explore these themes further, aiming to integrate social identity theory into psychosis interventions.
