Dr. Lorna Finlayson is a Lecturer at the University of Essex's School of Philosophical, Historical, and Interdisciplinary Studies, based at the Colchester Campus. She holds BA and PhD degrees in Philosophy from King's College, Cambridge, where she subsequently held a junior research fellowship and served as an affiliated lecturer.
Her research explores political philosophy methodology, critical theory, ideology analysis, feminist philosophy, and Arabic philosophy. She is author of The Political Is Political: conformity and the illusion of dissent in contemporary political philosophy (2015) and An Introduction to Feminism (2016).
