Temple UniversityAbout
Lori Rink, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Cancer Signaling and Microenvironment department at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Her research focuses on mechanisms of therapeutic resistance in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) and identifying novel drug targets through kinome profiling and preclinical testing. She leads a lab developing patient-derived xenograft models to enhance translational research.
- Education: PhD in Molecular Biology (Temple University, 2006); BS in Biology (University of Scranton, 2000)
- Grants: K99 Pathway to Independence Award (NCI), SARC Phase II trial funding
- Lab Team: 3 graduate students and a postdoctoral fellow
Her work combines molecular biology and clinical insights to address resistance to tyrosine kinase inhibitors like imatinib. Recent studies include Wee1 inhibition in combination therapies and kinome profiling of GIST subtypes.
Publications span 2006–2025, with a focus on GIST biology and drug discovery. She collaborates with clinicians and researchers to translate lab findings into clinical applications.
