About
Lorenzo Maffi is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Padua researching topological quantum matter and strongly correlated systems. His work focuses on theoretical proposals to realize non-abelian anyons in superconducting-semiconducting heterostructures, with applications in topological quantum computing.
During his PhD at the University of Florence, Dr. Maffi studied conformal field theories and critical phenomena in one-dimensional systems, particularly massless edge states in topological phases. Subsequent research at the Niels Bohr Institute examined hybrid superconducting devices. Current investigations address quantum phase transitions and vortex dynamics in Bose-Hubbard systems near Mott insulating regimes.
