Dr. Lorenzo Gatta is a Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS), University College London, active from February 21 to August 30, 2025. Trained as an architect at the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio and KTH Stockholm, he holds advanced degrees in art history from The Courtauld Institute, including a PhD focused on ritual, space, and materiality in 17th-century Southern Netherlands confessionals.
- Current Role: Investigates political resonance of Indigenous architecture in the early modern Atlantic World.
- Research Themes: Interdisciplinary analysis of travel accounts, maps, diplomatic documents, and oral histories.
