About
Lorenzo Feltrin is a Research Fellow at the Department of Humanities, Ca' Foscari University of Venice. His work bridges labor studies, political ecology, and social movement analysis, focusing on environmental justice in industrial contexts. Previously, he held positions at the University of Warwick (PhD, 2019) and the University of Birmingham (Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship, 2021-2024).
His research investigates the intersection of workplace struggles and ecological crises, particularly in petrochemical regions like Porto Marghera (Italy), Grangemouth (Scotland), and Quintero-Puchuncaví (Chile). Key themes include toxic expertise, labor-environment alliances, and global noxious divisions of labor. His book In and Against the Ecological Crisis: Working-Class Environmentalism between Workplace and Community is forthcoming from Verso Books.
Recent publications analyze deindustrialization's socio-ecological impacts, extractive industries in Latin America, and transnational environmental justice frameworks. His work combines ethnographic fieldwork with comparative political economy approaches.
