About
Lorenzo Benatti serves as a Research Fellow at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, actively contributing to the Horizon 2020 BeFerroSynaptic project since 2021.
He earned his Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering (2018) and Master's degree in Electronics Engineering (2020) from the same institution. His Master's thesis focused on characterizing novel non-volatile resistive memories (RRAM) and evaluating their performance in ultra-low power logic-in-memory (LIM) architectures.
His current research centers on ferroelectric devices—specifically Ferroelectric Tunnel Junctions (FTJ)—for neuromorphic computing applications. His work bridges device physics, memory architecture, and energy-efficient computing systems, with primary emphasis on neuromorphic architectures, ferroelectric device characterization, and non-volatile memory technologies.
