About
Lorella Battelli is an Associate Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School (HMS). She serves as Faculty Director and member of the Steering Committee in the Mind Brain Behavior Interfaculty Initiative (MBB). Her research focuses on dynamic vision and motion perception, particularly investigating the role of the parietal cortex in visual processing through neuropsychological studies and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) in healthy volunteers.
Her work addresses limitations of traditional lesion studies by employing TMS to create reversible 'virtual lesions,' enabling precise temporal and spatial analysis of visual cortex functions. This approach explores neuroplasticity and compensatory mechanisms in visual integration.
