Prof. Lore Hühn is a Full Professor of Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Philosophy, Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg. She serves as Co-Coordinator of Research Area D and Principal Investigator in the same research area. Her work bridges ethics, natural philosophy, and the Anthropocene, focusing on bioinspired technologies, normativity of nature, and classical German philosophy.
Research interests include modern philosophy (especially German Idealism), practical philosophy, and the ethical implications of living materials systems (livMatS). She supervises doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, including Dr. Louisa Julie Estadieu and Dr. Philipp Höfele. Her interdisciplinary projects explore societal implications of bioinspired technologies and the philosophical dimensions of the Anthropocene.
Publications emphasize ethical and conceptual challenges in technology, nature, and freedom. Recent work includes analyses of Rousseau and Schopenhauer's moral frameworks and contributions to understanding the Anthropocene's philosophical underpinnings.
