Lora Erickson

Dr. Lora Erickson serves as core faculty at The Chicago School in the online Master of Arts in Psychology (MAP) program and as a reader in the online International Psychology program. She is a licensed clinical mental health counselor in Illinois, Florida, and Colorado, and works as a therapist for a private telehealth counseling platform. With 15 years of online teaching experience, she is a subject matter expert in course review and revision for tests and measures, diversity, gender and leadership, trauma and crisis intervention, and professional ethics.

Her educational background includes a PhD in Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (2017), an M.A. in Psychology from Lincoln University (2008), and a B.S. in Psychology from Illinois State University (2005).

Dr. Erickson's research centers on cross-cultural studies of resiliency and protective factors, emergent professional identity models in international psychology, and the sensitivity of qualitative methodology in trauma-based work. She applies these interests to diverse populations through multicultural frameworks, emphasizing ethical considerations and practical applications in global contexts.

Her recent publications demonstrate consistent focus on international perspectives, resilience research, and pedagogical innovation. Works span adolescent mental health interventions, qualitative trauma methodology, Guatemalan women's resilience, and adaptations of Boyer's scholarship model for inclusive education.
