Loizos Michael

Loizos Michael is a Lecturer and current Principal of Mesoyios College. He specializes in International Relations and Political Analysis, with a focus on Security, Conflicts, and International Crisis Resolution. He holds a degree in International Relations and European Studies, and a Master’s degree in International Relations with a specialization in Security, Conflicts, and International Crisis Resolution. He is also a certified vocational training instructor by the Human Resource Development Authority.

His career includes managerial roles in the private sector and NGOs, followed by significant governmental and policy-related positions. From 2013 to 2019, he served as a Parliamentary Scientific Associate in the House of Representatives of Cyprus. From 2019 to 2023, he was Director of the Office of the Minister of Interior, managing migration issues and leading the National Returns Office. He also represents Cyprus in the European Commission’s High-Level Network on Returns.

He currently holds leadership roles in the Cyprus Institute of Demographic and Migration Policy (Vice President) and has previously led the Cyprus Peace Centre and DEMYC. He frequently speaks at international and local conferences on migration and international relations, and contributes scholarly articles and analyses.
