Logan Grider

Logan Grider is an Associate Professor of Art at Swarthmore College since 2009. He holds an M.F.A. from Yale University (2007) and a B.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2003).

His research focuses on contemporary painting techniques, particularly egg tempera on chalk ground wood panels, exploring materiality, color structure, and dimensional compositions. His work has been nationally and internationally exhibited and reviewed in prominent art publications including Artforum, ArtNews, and Hyperallergic.

Logan Grider maintains active artistic practice with recent works (2021-2024) emphasizing small-scale relief paintings using traditional media. He has participated in artist residencies at Ballinglen Arts Foundation (Ireland) and Carraig-na-gCat (Ireland).
