Lizann Bonnar is a Senior Teaching Fellow in the Department of Psychological Sciences and Health at the University of Strathclyde, holding a 0.7FTE role as Vice Dean (Academic) in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She leads academic enhancement initiatives spanning over 100 programs for 8,000 students across 15 disciplines. Her roles include chairing the University's Assessment and Feedback Working Group and Generative-AI in Education working group.
With a PhD from the University of Glasgow (2005) in cognitive psychology and a Glasgow MA (2000), her research evolves from visual attention studies to focus on student mental health, equity in higher education, and work-based learning. She completed the Oxford Women's Leadership Programme (2022-23).
Her teaching includes leading the final-year Psychology Work Placement class and supervising Honours/MSc dissertations. She pioneered the university-wide 'Multi-disciplinary Perspectives of Sustainable Development' module (2020), aligned with UNESCO's ESD goals.
Externally, she serves on the British Psychological Society's Undergraduate Education Committee and QAA Psychology Benchmark Panel. Her 9 awards highlight teaching excellence and leadership in educational innovation.
