Professor Liz Lightstone is a Professor of Renal Medicine at Imperial College London's Faculty of Medicine and an Honorary Consultant Physician at the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She holds leadership roles as Faculty of Medicine Consul (Clinical) and Deputy Campus Director for the Hammersmith White City Campus. Her research focuses on lupus nephritis, pregnancy outcomes in kidney disease patients, and health inequalities. She has pioneered pre-pregnancy counseling for women with kidney disease, guiding over 1,000 such pregnancies.

Her recent work includes leading the MELODY study on immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 in kidney patients and co-chairing the Imperial College's pandemic treatment guidelines. She has pioneered vaccination strategies for immunocompromised populations and advocates for gender equity in academic nephrology. Prof. Lightstone is a Trustee of Kidney Research UK and actively contributes to policy through committees like the ISN Western Europe Regional Board.
