Liz Hawkins is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the School of Business and Law, University of Brighton. She holds a BA in Business Studies (University of Derby, 1994), MSc in Marketing, Communication and Branding (University of Brighton, 2022), and PG Certificates in Teaching and Learning (2020) and Sustainable Leadership (2011). A Chartered Member of the British Education (CMBE), she is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Her research focuses on social media marketing, influencer marketing ethics, filter usage in advertising, and intergenerational rhetoric. Current projects include examining the impact of filters on trust in influencer relationships and the rhetorical shifts across generations in digital spaces.
Her 2022 article Gen X: The Filtered Out Generation explores generational dynamics in digital marketing contexts. Awards include recognition for teaching excellence and sustainability leadership.
Liz advises no current students and has no listed grants. She teaches CIM modules in digital optimization, marketing strategy, and campaign planning.
