About
Livia Condemi is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) and Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) in Barcelona, Spain. Her current project focuses on understanding the role of PCL family proteins in Polycomb binding on chromatin under the mentorship of Luciano Di Croce. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Biotechnology and Genetics/Molecular Biology from the University of Rome 'La Sapienza', where her research included histone demethylase Jhd2 in yeast and its breast cancer homolog JARID1B. Livia also completed a dual-country fellowship ('Torno Subito') between CRG and Sapienza University.
Her research interests span epigenetic modifications, chromatin regulation, and cancer biology. She investigates how epigenetic mechanisms govern cell identity and differentiation, with implications for developmental and disease contexts.
Livia’s scientific recognition includes the Torno Subito fellowship from LAZIODISU. Her work bridges basic molecular mechanisms with translational insights into cancer and cellular differentiation.
She is affiliated with Di Croce’s lab at CRG and collaborates across institutions through her interdisciplinary training program (ChromDesign ITN).
