Lissa Lincoln

Dr. Lissa Lincoln is an Associate Professor and Director of the Gender, Sexuality & Society program at the American University of Paris. Her research bridges feminist theory, post-colonial studies, and continental philosophy, with a focus on normativity, social justice, and intersections of race/caste/gender. She holds a PhD in French Literature and Theory from McGill University, alongside MA and BEd degrees from the University of Alberta.

Her work critically examines judgment, power, and morality through thinkers like Foucault, Deleuze, and Camus. Recent publications analyze Camus’ subversive approaches to law and social justice, while her conference presentations span global venues including Mumbai, Harvard, and Helsinki.

Teaching spans courses on feminist theory, gender law, and critical writing. Affiliations include the Schaeffer Center for Genocide Studies and Edinburgh’s Critical Law & Humanities network. Her interdisciplinary research integrates literary analysis with legal philosophy to challenge dominant narratives of justice and morality.
