Liselotte Schäfer Elinder

Liselotte Schäfer Elinder is an Adjunct Professor and Research Team Leader at the Department of Global Public Health, Karolinska Institutet. She holds a PhD from Denmark's Academy of Technical Sciences (1990) and has held leadership roles in public health policy and research, including at the Swedish National Institute of Public Health and the WHO Europe office.

Her research spans epidemiological studies, multidisciplinary health promotion, and implementation strategies for chronic disease prevention, focusing on dietary habits, physical activity, and sustainable development goals. She leads projects like Changemaker, funded by Horizon Europe, and IMPROVE, addressing adolescent obesity in sub-Saharan Africa.

Teaching includes leadership roles in KI's Intervention and Implementation Research courses, Master of Public Health health promotion track, and Health Environment and Society lectures.
