Dr. Lise Olsen serves as an Associate Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia Okanagan within the Faculty of Health and Social Development. She is affiliated with the Canadian Institute for Inclusion and Citizenship as an active researcher.
Prior to her academic career, Dr. Olsen worked as a Registered Nurse in diverse clinical settings including orthopedics and community health, providing practical foundation for her research interests.
Her research focuses on child and family health promotion, with particular emphasis on developing inclusive and safe recreation opportunities for families of children living with neurodevelopmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders. This work falls within UBC Okanagan's Health and Wellbeing research stream.
Dr. Olsen contributes to advancing knowledge in nursing practice through her research on family-centered care approaches and inclusive community participation for children with disabilities.
