Lisa Ze Winters

Lisa Ze Winters is an Associate Professor in African American Studies and English at Wayne State University, serving as Associate Chair of the English Department. She holds a Ph.D. (2005), M.A. (1999), and A.B. (1993) in African American and Diaspora Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. Her research focuses on African American literature, diaspora studies, black feminist thought, and slavery studies. She has authored The Mulatta Concubine (2016), analyzing intersections of race, gender, and power in transatlantic contexts.
