Lisa Spantig

Lisa Spantig is an Assistant Professor at RWTH Aachen University's School of Business and Economics and Director of AIXperiment, the school's experimental laboratory. She also holds a part-time lectureship at the University of Essex's Economics Department and is affiliated with the CESifo Network and the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences, Humanities, and the Arts as a Junior Fellow. She earned her PhD from the University of Munich (LMU) in 2018.

Her research intersects behavioral, development, and experimental economics, with active projects on:

• Digital financial services and financial inclusion
• Social norms and moral decision-making
• Honesty in economic behavior

She utilizes diverse data sources, including experimental designs, surveys, and administrative datasets.

She has been recognized with a Junior Fellowship at the North Rhine-Westphalian Academy of Sciences. At RWTH Aachen, she leads the AIXperiment laboratory, which supports experimental research in economics.
