Lisa Raymond-Tolan

Lisa Raymond-Tolan is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. She teaches courses such as Foundations of Occupational Therapy, Performance and Development Across the Lifespan, and Pediatrics. Her research focuses on fostering engagement in valued occupations for children and occupational therapy students through innovative methods like executive function curricula, adventure playground observation, and student-generated media projects.

Dr. Raymond-Tolan holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from SUNY Downstate Medical Center and a Doctor of Occupational Therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. She has received grants and awards recognizing her work, including NYU's Teaching Advancement Grant for a program using adventure playgrounds to study child-led play.

Her scholarly contributions include presentations at AOTA, NYSOTA, and international conferences, addressing topics like social media as learning tools and play-based interventions. She previously served as a Clinical Associate Professor at Pace University and maintains a clinical affiliation with Community Roots Charter School.
