Lisa Pavlovic

Lisa Pavlovic, MD is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine and a board certified child abuse pediatrician. She serves as the Medical Director of the Yale Child Abuse Clinic at Yale New Haven Hospital and is the Deputy Director of the Yale Programs for Safety, Advocacy and Healing.

Dr. Pavlovic completed her medical education at Eastern Virginia School of Medicine (MD, 1993) and earned her BS in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut (1989). She completed her residency and internship in pediatrics at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in 1996.

Dr. Pavlovic specializes in child abuse pediatrics, with research and clinical interests focused on diagnosing and treating children who have experienced abuse. Her work emphasizes child safety, advocacy, and healing through comprehensive medical evaluations and care plans. As an educator, she trains future pediatricians to recognize and manage signs of possible child abuse, contributing significantly to pediatric medical education at Yale.

Through her leadership roles at the Yale Child Abuse Clinic and the Yale Programs for Safety, Advocacy and Healing, Dr. Pavlovic collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes for vulnerable children. Her clinical work involves thorough medical evaluations of children suspected of abuse, working closely with social services, law enforcement, and legal systems to ensure child safety and appropriate intervention.

Dr. Pavlovic is actively involved in mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows in the field of child abuse pediatrics, helping to develop the next generation of specialists in this critical area of pediatric medicine.
