Lisa Milinazzo

Lisa Milinazzo is a Graduate Film Instructor at Columbia University and New York University, where she contributes to advanced film education. Her career spans directing acclaimed plays and films, including the short film THE QUERY premiered at the Cannes Short Film Corner. She has collaborated with notable actors like Alec Baldwin and Marin Ireland, and her work has been staged at prestigious venues such as Theatre Row and 59E59th Theaters in NYC, and internationally in the UK.

Her research interests and artistic practice focus on themes of trauma, identity, and social dynamics. Plays like SLAIN IN THE SPIRIT (exploring religious fundamentalism and postpartum psychosis) and TRIBES (addressing belonging and communication) reflect her engagement with psychologically complex narratives. She also explores mythic storytelling in works such as MIRACLES LOST AND FOUND and DIANA AND NAVY, which blend surrealism with rock music.
