Lisa Marie Chaufty

Lisa Marie Chaufty serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor and Director of the Emma Ray Riggs McKay Music Library at the University of Utah's School of Music, where she also directs the Early Music Ensemble. Since joining in 2013, she has transformed the library from a former listening lab into a scholarly hub, notably digitizing Maurice Abravanel's Mahler symphony scores and expanding resources for music students.

As an educator, Chaufty teaches Music Bibliography and directs the Early Music Ensemble, mentoring students in historical performance practices while premiering contemporary works like Miguel Chuaqui's Arioso for Recorder and Live Electronics. She co-founded heArt Music to deliver performances for underserved communities and has presented research at national conferences including MLA 2022's plenary session.

Chaufty co-directs heArt Music, an ensemble dedicated to accessible early music programming, and cultivates partnerships with regional artists for collaborative projects like Gaspar Fernandes' Xicochi conetzintle, enriching Utah's cultural landscape through community engagement.
