Dr. Lisa Lieberman is an Associate Professor of Public Health at Montclair State University's Department of Public Health. She holds a PhD in Health Behavior and Health Education from the University of Michigan (1986) and an MA in Health Education from Kent State University. Her research focuses on tobacco control, teen pregnancy and HIV prevention, structural approaches to health improvement, and adolescent/pre-teen health.
Her work addresses critical public health issues such as school-based sex education programs, racial disparities in campus sexual violence perceptions, and LGBTQ+ youth health. She serves as associate editor of the Health Education & Behavior journal and contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being. Over 72 media engagements highlight her expertise in adolescent health and smoking effects.
