Lisa Katherine Kerr, PhD, is a Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). She has been a faculty member of the Center for Academic Excellence/Writing Center since Fall 2006 and currently directs the Office of Humanities, integrating health humanities into student education across MUSC’s six colleges. Her research interests span Health Humanities, Education, Writing, Health & Illness, and Applied Compassion and Health. In 2023, she became a Certified Applied Compassion Educator through Stanford’s CCARE, developing a program in applied compassion and health for MUSC students.
