Dr. Lisa K. Nolan is the Georgia Athletic Association Distinguished Professor and Dean of the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She previously held leadership roles at Iowa State University and North Dakota State University, including Dean, Associate Dean, and Department Chair. Her expertise lies in bacterial pathogenesis affecting animal and human health, with a focus on Escherichia coli strains causing avian colibacillosis and human urinary/urinary tract infections.
Education: BS from Valdosta State College; DVM, MS, and PhD from the University of Georgia.
Research Interests: Bacterial zoonotic diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and E. coli virulence mechanisms. She has pioneered studies on avian pathogenic E. coli (APEC) and their overlap with human pathogens, particularly neonatal meningitis strains.
