Dr Lisa H. Anders is a Lecturer in German & European Politics at King's College London, affiliated with the Department of European & International Studies within the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Leipzig and a Master’s in Social Sciences from Humboldt University of Berlin. Her research focuses on the German political system, EU responses to democratic backsliding, European integration dynamics, and the politicisation of EU governance. She is a speaker of the Standing Group on European Studies and Comparative Regionalism under the German Political Science Association (DVPW).
Her recent work explores rule of law narratives in East Central Europe, EU citizenship perceptions among youth, and institutional frameworks for analyzing political actors and institutions. Key publications include a textbook on the German political system (2022) and analyses of EU rule of law mechanisms (2023-2024). She actively participates in the Centre for German Transnational Relations and European Politics & Society Research Group. Office hours are Wednesdays 10:30-12:30 and Fridays 14:30-15:30.
