Lisa Given

Lisa Given is an Adjunct Professor at Swinburne University of Technology's Centre for Design Innovation, specializing in information behavior, qualitative methods, and research impact. She leads ARC projects on knowledge management in non-profits and research adoption in the wine industry, developing frameworks like CEFI for community-engaged scholarship.

Her work addresses casual academic labor, cultural data ecosystems, and transdisciplinary research designs. Publications include the award-winning encyclopedia The Sage Encyclopedia of Qualitative Research Methods and the textbook Looking for Information. Dr. Given served as Past-President of the Association for Information Science and Technology and on the Australian Research Council College of Experts.
