Lisa Frohmann, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology, Law, and Justice at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), with affiliate appointments in Sociology and Gender and Women’s Studies. Her research focuses on gender-based violence, state responses to violence, and participatory visual methodologies. She uses participant photography to document marginalized communities' experiences, including Native American women in Chicago, formerly incarcerated men, and immigrant survivors of violence.
Education: PhD in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
