Lisa Friesen

Lisa Friesen is the Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning at Southwest Oklahoma State University (SWOSU). With over 17 years of experience in secondary, post-secondary, and vocational teaching, including 10+ years in online education, she specializes in workforce development, online learning, and organizational learning.

• Education: B.A. in Social Sciences Education, M.Ed. in Administration (SWOSU), and currently pursuing a PhD in Adult and Higher Education Administration at the University of Oklahoma (OU).

Her research focuses on enhancing educational delivery through technology and professional development frameworks. She actively contributes to SWOSU’s Distance Learning Committee and serves as faculty sponsor for Gamma Delta Kappa. Professionally, she is affiliated with AAUW and ATD, advocating for gender equity and workforce training advancements.

• Community Engagement: Secretary/Treasurer of South Canadian Valley League Summer Baseball, Tech Trek Core teacher for Girl Scouts, and member of multiple WPS Booster Organizations.
