Lisa DuRose

Lisa DuRose serves as an English Instructor in the Department of English at Inver Hills Community College, where she has taught since 2001. A first-generation college graduate, she brings diverse perspectives to her classroom through her engagement with students' varied backgrounds and experiences.

Her educational qualifications include:

• Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Western Michigan University
• Master of Arts (MA) from Western Michigan University
• Bachelor of Arts (BA) with minor in English Technical and Business Writing from University of Wisconsin-River Falls

Dr. DuRose specializes in 20th century American literature and composition pedagogy. Her scholarly work centers on literary criticism with particular emphasis on Midwestern authors, demonstrated through her co-edited volume Michigan Salvage: The Fiction of Bonnie Jo Campbell and publications across multiple literary journals. Her research bridges academic analysis with regional cultural studies.

Outside academia, she maintains active interests in gardening, creative writing, and feline companionship with her wife.
