Lisa Bonfert

Lisa Bonfert is a Researcher in the Department of Education and Social Work at the University of Luxembourg. She holds a Master's degree in Sustainable Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, and a Bachelor's degree in Business Languages Asia and Management from HTWG Konstanz and Universiti Sains Malaysia. Her current role involves research on migration and social policy. Previously, she served as a Research Associate at the Technical University of Dortmund and is a doctoral candidate at Bielefeld University's Graduate School in History and Sociology, focusing on international migration's impact on social positioning under Professors Thomas Faist and Andrea Behrends.

Research interests include transnationalization, social inequality, migration and development, and migrant organizations. She has been a long-term recipient of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (2011–2018) and contributed to projects such as 'Migrant Organizations and the Co-Production of Social Security.' Her work bridges sociological analysis with policy-oriented research.
