Ling-Yu Guo

Ling-Yu Guo is an Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences at the University at Buffalo's College of Arts and Sciences. His research examines grammatical development in monolingual and bilingual children, with current focus on language outcomes for Mandarin-speaking children with cochlear implants.

Dr. Guo investigates predictors of language development in children with hearing loss and develops assessment tools for grammatical skills. He teaches courses on language development, disorders in children, and school-age language intervention. Current projects involve longitudinal studies of vocabulary growth and grammatical accuracy in children with cochlear implants.
