Line Tau Strand

Line Tau Strand is Professor in the Soil and Water Science Section at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). Her research expertise encompasses pedology, soil classification systems, and soil organic matter dynamics.

Key research areas include soil carbon sequestration mechanisms, land use impacts on soil quality, and methodological advances in soil characterization. Her work spans Norwegian forest soils, Arctic ecosystems, and tropical Acrisols, with particular attention to carbon storage potential and climate feedback mechanisms.

Professor Strand has developed methodologies for soil carbon assessment, contributed to IPCC carbon accounting frameworks, and investigated biochar applications in agricultural systems. Recent research examines soil-wildlife health interactions and circular economy approaches to soil fertility management.
