Lindsey Gillies is an academic professional currently serving as a Senior Lecturer and Associate Director (Computer Science) at the Faculty of Environment and Technology, University of the West of England (UWE). She joined UWE in 2012 as a Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Forensic Computing & Security course, later becoming Associate Head of Department (Computer Science) in 2015 and Associate Director in 2023. Her career spans over three decades, including roles as a Digital Forensics Specialist in London and academic positions at Cranfield University.

Her expertise in digital forensics has been applied to high-profile criminal investigations, including child abuse, rape, and fraud cases. She transitioned from teaching mathematics at Pates Grammar School (1986-1988) to academic research at Cranfield University, where she lectured on forensic computing from 2002 to 2007.
