Linda Ye

Linda Ye is an Assistant Professor of Physics at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) since September 2023, affiliated with the Division of Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy. She previously served as a Visiting Associate at Caltech from 2022 to 2023.

• Education: B.S. in Mathematics and Physics (Tsinghua University, 2012), M.E. in Applied Physics (University of Tokyo, 2014), Ph.D. in Physics (MIT, 2020)

Her research focuses on designing topological and correlated quantum materials through materials synthesis, high-precision transport measurements, and cryogenic strain tuning. She is renowned for pioneering the discovery of kagome metals, a novel class of quantum materials with unique electronic properties.

Recent publications highlight her work on flat bands, Dirac fermions, and strain-tunable magnetic phases in kagome metals like FeSn and Fe3Sn2. These studies intersect with condensed matter physics, quantum materials, and correlated electron systems.
