Dr. Linda K. Lilienthal is an Associate Professor in the Teacher Education Department at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, where she serves as Graduate Program Chair for Reading. She earned her Ed.D. in Educational Studies with Elementary Education and Reading emphasis from the University of Northern Colorado (2006). Her scholarship focuses on literacy education, particularly in online teaching environments, reading clinic administration, and integrating technology in teacher preparation.
Dr. Lilienthal teaches graduate courses including Contemporary Reading Theory & Practice, Literacy Assessment, and Practicum in Reading. Her research examines co-teaching strategies during pandemic education, LGBTQ+ inclusive classrooms, and practicum course design for online programs. She has presented extensively at international conferences including the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE), EdMedia, and the International Literacy Association conference.
As Graduate Program Chair, Dr. Lilienthal oversees UNK's Reading PK-12 program, advises graduate students, and coordinates program assessment for CAEP accreditation. She maintains active membership in professional organizations including the International Literacy Association, Literacy Research Association, and American Educational Research Association, where she serves as a proposal reviewer. Her community engagement includes literacy outreach through Alpha Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma.
