Dr. Lina Efthyvoulou is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Lecturer in Counselling Psychology at the Department of Psychology, School of Health Sciences, Neapolis University Pafos. She serves as the ERASMUS+ Program coordinator for the Psychology Department. Her roles include clinical supervision of mental health professionals and psychology students, alongside maintaining a private clinical practice.
Dr. Efthyvoulou holds a BSc (Honours) in Psychology and an MSc in Mental Health from Queen Mary University of London, followed by a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from the University of Manchester.
Her research focuses on subjective experiences of psychological distress, including psychosis, trauma, post-traumatic growth, and transgenerational trauma. She employs qualitative methods such as narrative and thematic analysis. Key interests include therapeutic interventions like imagery rescripting, trauma narrative therapy, and Virtual Reality (VR) applications in mental health treatment.
Dr. Efthyvoulou has clinical experience in NHS Greater Manchester Hospitals, the Priory Royal Cheadle Hospital, and Cypriot institutions such as the National Guard, Psychiatric Department of Health (SNE), Central Prison, and addiction rehabilitation centers.
