Dr. Lily Wang is Professor and Graduate Program Director in the Department of Statistics at George Mason University. She holds a PhD from Michigan State University and previously served on faculties at Iowa State University and University of Georgia.
Her research develops cutting-edge methods for complex data structures including functional, imaging, spatiotemporal, and high-dimensional data, with applications in neuroscience, environmental science, and biomedicine. Wang directs the FIRST Data Learning Lab, focusing on statistical AI, distributed learning, and synthetic data generation.
Wang has received over $1M in NIH/NSF funding and serves as Associate Editor for JRSSB and JCGS. She mentors doctoral students who have won prestigious awards including the Washington Statistical Society Outstanding Graduate Student Award.
