Lillian Pierce

Lillian Pierce is a Professor of Mathematics at Duke University, located in Durham, North Carolina. Her office is in Gross Hall, and she can be contacted at pierce@math.duke.edu. Her research focuses on Analytic Number Theory and Harmonic Analysis, supported by the NSF grant DMS-2200470.

She holds editorial roles at several prestigious journals, including Essential Number Theory (founding editor), Journal of the AMS, Duke Mathematical Journal, Discrete Analysis, and Annals of Math. Studies. Previously, she served on the editorial boards of Transactions of the AMS, Memoirs of the AMS, Journal of Geometric Analysis, and Experimental Mathematics.

Pierce delivered the talk The Hedgehog and the Fox at the ICM 2022 and contributed to its proceedings. She also initiated the Paths project during the pandemic, a collaborative effort by mathematicians in March-April 2020.
