Lidis Garbovan

Lidis Garbovan serves as a Research Fellow and Citizen Panel Lead at the Centre for Medical Informatics within the Usher Institute, part of the School of Population Health Sciences at the University of Edinburgh's College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. Her work centers on integrating public perspectives into health data governance frameworks for trusted research environments.

Her research spans public and patient involvement (PPI), data governance, and participatory design in health informatics. She specializes in developing citizen panels to ensure diverse public input shapes data access protocols for longitudinal studies, emphasizing ethical decision-making and inclusive research practices in population data science.

Her 2025 publication establishes a novel Citizen Panel protocol for the UK Longitudinal Linkage Collaboration, highlighting trends toward democratized data governance where public engagement directly influences trusted research environment policies.
