Lida Pimper is a faculty member affiliated with SIT Study Abroad, where she serves as the Academic Coordinator for the program "People, Environment, and Climate Change in Patagonia and Antarctica."
- PhD from the University of Buenos Aires
Her research focuses on the conservation biology of marine mammals, particularly dolphins, using molecular genetics tools. She investigates biodiversity surveys in Antarctica, the human dimension of conservation, and coastal/marine protected areas, contributing to conservation management for Argentina's national protected areas.
Lida works with the Museo Acatushún de Aves y Mamíferos Marinos Australes in Tierra del Fuego and serves on the board of the Natalie Goodall Foundation. She has participated in Antarctic biodiversity surveys aboard research vessels and worked on tourist cruise ships during southern summers since 2012.
