Libby Meyer

Libby Meyer is a Teaching Professor in Music Theory and Composition at Michigan Technological University, and Director of the Music Composition Program. She holds a DMA in Music Composition from Northwestern University. Her work focuses on natural soundscapes and the intersection of art and nature, with compositions spanning orchestral, choral, film, and theater. She has held residencies at Isle Royale National Park and Sweden’s Visby International Center for Composers.

Research Interests: Meyer’s compositions are deeply inspired by ecological and environmental themes. She co-founded the Keweenaw Soundscape Project to document regional acoustic ecosystems and is a member of the Landscape Music Network.
