Lian Ruan

Lian Ruan is a Researcher at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's School of Information Sciences, holding a PhD in Library and Information Science. She serves as Head Librarian at the Illinois Fire Service Institute and has played significant leadership roles in international librarianship initiatives.

Her research focuses on information behavior, special library administration, and international librarianship. She has contributed to global library education through the Chinese Librarians Scholarly Exchange Program (CLSEP) and hosted numerous visiting scholars from China.

• Executive Director of Chinese American Librarians Association (2016-2022)
• Member of IFLA Information Literacy Standing Committee (2017-2021)
• Recipient of CALA Outstanding Leadership Award (2022)
