Liam Morrison

Professor Liam Morrison holds a Personal Chair in Veterinary Parasitology at The Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh, affiliated with The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies. His career transitioned from veterinary medicine to parasitology research after completing a PhD at the University of Glasgow. He leads foundational studies on African trypanosomes affecting livestock, focusing on overcoming drug resistance and vaccine development barriers.

Research interests span:

• Genomic analysis of host-parasite interactions
• Drug resistance mechanisms in trypanosomes
• Cross-species immunity adaptation (mouse to cattle)
• Livestock disease prevention strategies
